Materials Needed

  • Chosen color(s) for pattern (I used Red Heart Super Saver)
  • G/4.25mm hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Polyester fiber-fill
  • Sewing needle
  • Scissors

Stitches Used

  • Ch – Chain
  • Slst – Slip Stitch
  • Sc – Single Crochet
  • Rnd – Round
  • Adj Ring – Adjustable Ring (If you are not comfortable with the Adjustable Ring, you can chain 2 and make the amount of stitches in the second chain from hook)
  • Sc2tog – Single Crochet 2 Together (invisible decrease – if you’re unfamiliar with this technique, refer to this link: http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-single-crochet-invisible-decrease/ ) – THIS IS NOT MY LINK!

**To make your sweater, hat and scarf look like jersey’s, make your colors changes of the team closer to the bottom of the sweater, sleeves, hat and on the wider part of the scarf**

Sweater – Body

Using color of choice:

Row 1: Ch 31, sc in second st from hook, ch 1, turn (30)

Row 2: *Sc in 4 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from *to* around, ch 1, turn (36)

Row 3: Sc in 7 sts, ch 15, skip 5 sts, sc in next 12 sts, ch 15, skip 5 sts, sc in last 7 sts, ch 1, turn (56)

Row 4 & 5: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (56)

Row 6: *Sc in 6 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from *to* to end of row, ch 1, turn (64)

Row 7 – 21: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (64) At the end of row 21, finish off and weave in all ends.

Sweater – Sleeve (Repeat for both sleeves)

Using color of choice:

Attach to any st in the opening of the armhole with a slst

Rnd 1: Sc in same st as slst and in each st around, place your stitch marker in the last st and do not join! (23sts total – if you are short a stitch, just do an increase in your last stitch to make 23)

Rnd 2 – 15: Sc in each st around (23) At the end of round 15, finish off and weave in all ends.

Once the sweater is finished, place the opening of the sweater on the back of your bear and whip stitch the back closed, using a long length of yarn left over from your sweater. If you wish to make your sweater removable, you can sew snaps or Velcro to the back instead.

Hat

Using color of choice:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in an adj ring (6)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12)

Rnd 3: *Sc in the next 1 st, 2 sc in the next* repeat from *to* around (18)

Rnd 4: *Sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next* repeat from *to* around (24)

Rnd 5: *Sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in the next* repeat from *to* around (30)

Rnd 6: *Sc in the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next* repeat from *to* around (36)

Rnd 7: *Sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc in the next* repeat from *to* around (42)

Rnd 8: *Sc in the next 6 sts, 2 sc in the next* repeat from *to* around (48)

Rnd 9 & 10: Sc in each st around, ch 1, turn (48)

You will be working the rest of the hat in rows now:

Row 1: Sc in first st and the next 26 sts, ch 1, turn (27)

Row 2 – 6: Sc in first st and the next 26 sts, ch 1, turn (27)   At the end of row 6, finish off and weave in ends. This is the back of the hat.

Working along the front of the hat:

Row 1: Attach with a slst to second st (leave one st unworked) of rnd 10, sc in same st and the next 18 sts, ch 1, turn (19)

Row 2: 2sc in the first st, sc in each st across, 2sc in last st, ch 1, turn (21)

Row 3: 2sc in the first st, sc in each st across, 2sc in last st, ch 1, turn (23)

Row 4: Sc in the first st and the next 22 sts, ch 1, turn (23)

Row 5: 2sc in the first st, sc in each st across, 2sc in last st, ch 1, turn (25)

Row 6: Sc in the first st and in each st across (25) Finish off and weave in ends.
